On July 31, 2003, a Union Pacific freight straight-lined a string of empties at Small. I made it to the scene a few days later and was able to shoot some of the final stages of cleanup. The McCloud Railway hospital cars (converted ex-CN open-air autoracks) were there to provide transportation to the ailing hoppers and tanks.
